I am working voluntarily as a consultant to the Ling Jiou Mountain Buddist Society and help the group create its e-commerce initiative called "e093".
e093 is a value-added services to LJM's members, who would like to trade goods and services on its existing trust network. By using e-commerce technology, the information flow over such network becomes more efficient and will benefit both sellers and buyers. We also expect that e093 will attract new (young) members to the LJM group.
The project started in Januaray 2004, from the great vision and leadership from Dharma Master Hsin Tao (who created the Museum of World Religions). I have the honor to invite Dr. Vincent Chen, former CEO of TWNIC, to lead this project. There are also some experts in operation and finance field joining the team (including my dear wife Angelia). We hope to finalize the ground work by the end of September 2004 and soft-launch it. The official launch date for e093 is set at Q4 2004.
Working with masters, monks, nuns and other volunteers in the group is a very, very special, interesting and even inspiring experience for me. This is the real case that a group of warm-hearted people trying to connect and technology with good human nature (and even expand it). I am glad that I have this great opportunity to devote my time in this project.
I very much appreciate and admire the open-minded and humble attitude of Dharma Master Hsin Tao. I look forward to sharing some more information when e093 is much more concrete and ready.
