What makes today special is the parade in downtown Taipei. It's to against China baby-come-back-or-i-will-shoot anti-succession law.
It's basically a happy parade, like a bigger weekend festival, with lots smiles, (political) stars, and suveniors. The pan-green Government plans it very well and pays the bill (we need more body exercise and happiness anyway). But I was thinking that if they can allocate some to my IPv6 project, that would be cool.
I accidentally joined the parade a bit while I walked to my hair studio around 2:30pm this afternoon. I grew up in Taipei, my parents were both immigrants from China (after the 1949 civil war). I might be a non-mainstream identity in the current political atmosphere but I am a Taiwanese, educated highly with Chinese culture influence. I am proud to say so. I am just like the people, with many of them are actually from the central or southern part of Taiwan, in the parade for thier true love to Taiwan and the country's bright future. Although today's traffic is 10-times worse than usual, I still like them. Usually I got short-temper easily because of bad traffic.
However a wierd feeling that I had this afternoon--a very few group of participants intend to make my hometown city Taipei as part of China for stupid political bias. I am very, very uncomfortable with that. Many non-Taipei residents think that Taipei is another world of Taiwan, much closer to unification with China. No, it's not the case.
