Arrive Miami

Around three years ago I spent nearly 2 days driving from NYC to Orlando with my family thru I-95 but did not stop at go further to Miami. This time it took me about 20 hours to get here from TPE. I rather drive.

I finally got the chance to see the movie "Millon Dollar Baby" on the TPE-SFO flight. It was truly a great performace by Clint Eastwood, and Hilary Swank totally knocked me down. She is such a talented and passionate actress!! The flight was 30 mins late but luckily the security check at SFO was not that bad as I thought--perhaps they put me in the express line, otherwise I'd miss my SFO-Miami connecting flight.

Met a cab driver Dan who claimed himself the ONLY English speaking cab driver in the city of Miami, and he agreed to offer me a ride in the afternoon of 29th...:-) Took some photoes outside the hotel, after a nice breakfast (actually a dinner as well). Will go shopping in the afternoon to get some stuff for the family. Right now I am fine-tuning the presentation for my 28th speech about ENUM, and that's what I am here for this time, not the Miami beach :-(

Robert Horry

年有35的Robert Horry, 手上不缺冠軍戒, Rockets, Lakers, 然後回道德州老家照顧小孩順便幫Spurs穩定軍心...永遠帶來驚奇的三分球, 比之前公牛的Steve Karr, 更早的Paxton, 208公分的他更具傳奇性. 昨天令我從沙發上跳起來的不是那最後一記三分球, 讓馬刺3-2先聽牌, 而是延長賽那一記禁區外跳躍飛身灌籃, 將Pistons銅牆鐵壁徹底擊潰! 老小子總是在關鍵時刻, 不然冷箭一支, 或是奮力一擊, 相對於年輕氣盛, 花拳繡腿的球星, Horry叔真是這一戰肯定有了歷史上的絕對地位...真是我心中的MVP!!

不才的Dopod818

上週五到週日放三天, 用Dopod 818拍了好多東東. 包含本人洗/剪髮英姿, 景色宜人的民生公園, 小兒Ray不願去上學的背影, 喬琥用負片效果拍我扮鬼臉, 我愛車Opel Zafira保養後重振雄風的帥勁, 週日更上福隆靈鷲山參加開山22週年慶, 拍了山上變幻的雲彩, 還自創Discovery channel拍法, 高高站在樹上的三隻雞仙, 垂吊下來湊熱鬧的超大毛毛蟲.....還有周六晚上去夢想社區參加雷鬼音樂節....都一一入鏡!

當我正準備要恭頌我這偉大的Dopod818的一切功德, 它大哥竟然先表演畫面凍結一招, 然後螢幕出現三條黑線, 好像小丸子額頭上的那種, 所以我當然就不耐煩地就按下reset...

接著, Windows Mobile就帶我重溫第一天設定這台機器的日子....#$%^

這種事情不要說失落感, 講了也沒人會鳥我, 說還會被奚落說沒有好好備分, 老婆也順勢取笑我一番, (你那個Do什麼Do, 不work嗎...). 但這種事情未來經濟效益可不能忽略, 本來我要大肆讚揚Dopod的, 現在我正準備好好寫一篇來數落多普達和微軟的不是; 本來我可以好好寫一篇靈鷲山的朝山體驗, 但因為不才的Dopod讓我文人的氣息頓時化為一肚子的大便...

發生這樣的事, Moblog更顯得重要! 另外, 我堅決反對微軟進軍"客廳"市場. 你絕對不會想要你的電視用Windows然後當機!

2005 IPv6 Summit in Taiwan--Logo Preview

The Logo of 2005 IPv6 Summit in Taiwan has been determined today via a heated discussion in our IPv6 project chairs meeting this afternoon. My appreciation to Eason and Oliver (from UCS studio), for their kind sponsorship on this great design effort. It's a great creativity on visualizing the concept of v4 to v6....see the two squares and count how many dots in each one :-)

This year IPv6 Summit in Taiwan will be held in conjunction with the 20th APAN meeting. Lots of work and coordination to be done by my project team and we wish to represent a friendly-ier side of IPv6 (possible??). Anyway more Summit info to be released in mid-June.

Neustar Taiwan

Visited Neustar Taiwan's office in Neihu (zh-tw 內湖)near noon and had lunch together. Neustar won the contract for setting up mobile phone Number Portability service in Taiwan, and they are also the registry partner for .tw oversea operation. Ken and George are reliable and hard-working partners, business-wise, and truly good friends to me as well--something developed in the buddist brotherhood :-)

Talk in ERAPR

I was invited to give a talk about blogging in ERAPR, the subsidiary of Ogilvy PR Group, during lunch today. The photos below were taken by my Dopod 818~~

My greatest pleasure to meet with respectful PR execs like Olive, Dustie, Tricia, Grace, and many other PR people who are leaders in the PR industry and eager to learn about blog as a new MEdia. I prepared a short (hmm...still spent more than 30 mins) presentation, accompanied by pizza and Pepsi. Very nice new office BTW, and I truly enjoyed the atmosphere and the interaction with such great team that sculpture Taiwanese IT industry a better appearance.

Golf w/ my folks

I came accross Fred's entry about Golf...or precisely, anti-golf.

Here's another interesting post on Surplus about anti-golf.

I am not an anti-golf person or an environmentalist. I used to practice a lot with my folks on Saturday night on the driving yard. I did manage to practice (btw I am left-handed...) around 150~200 shots / night, but I knew it's not just golf. I enjoyed hanging out with my folks more than golf itself. There's a lot of man-to-man talks, very good relaxation after the working hours. Prior to this golf addiction, the same thing happened on my late night basketball games every Friday. We will do 11-ball /shots a game on full court, 5-on-5, around 4~5 teams people join the club.

So I can't image any sports played without appropriate social function...

Anyhow things changed since some of us have babies, some no longer live in Taipei, and some, like myself, stopped for no special reason. No better or worse placement for my folks~~
